The Tusker FC Youth Team has continued to show steady growth and promise, embodying the club’s long-standing tradition of nurturing young talent.
Following an encouraging campaign last season that offered both valuable lessons and moments of brilliance, the young Brewers are now turning their focus to the new season with renewed hunger and ambition.
The team finished fifth in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Division II League, a massive improvement from a ninth-spot finish the previous season.
Coach Peter Kariuki, his assistant Paul Adera and Team Manager Calvin Odhiambo are laying the bricks towards a solid campaign in the 2025/26 season, with their focus tied on earning promotion. They are picking lessons from last season’s performance, to build on what they aim to achieve this term.
“Last season was a good outing for us because we earned more than 50 points for the first time. I think for me the biggest win was the level of understanding of the game by the players. They are now doing things more of how we want them to do so and they are able to read the game and make decisions by themselves,” coach Kariuki said.

His sentiments are echoed by Team Manager Calvin Odhiambo.
“For the first time in four years we accumulated more than 50 points and we also had more wins than the previous season. Definitely there were some ups and downs but I can’t take anything away from the boys because they gave a really good fight,” Odhiambo noted.
He added;
“In terms of the welfare of the team, I want to really thank the management because they gave us immense support and we had our affairs running very smoothly.”
Midfielder Stephen Kimani who was in his first season with the Young Brewers was one of the standout performers in the season and he believes he has improved personally and more should be expected from him and the team this season.
“I have grown a lot thanks to my coaches who have instilled in me some really good values. I believe it was an overall good season despite the fact that we didn’t reach the heights we had anticipated but I believe we have laid the foundation for better things to come,” the 19-year old stated.

Among the wins the team counts from last season is having three players promoted to the senior team. Captain George Odhiambo, forward David Polepople and winger Douglas Omanga have all earned promotions.
“We are delighted as coaches when we see this happens because our biggest mandate here is to develop players. We are also happy when we see some grow from here and join other teams in the top tier or second tier and that gives us motivation to keep doing this,” noted assistant coach Adera.
Next season, the team has laid clear its ambition; to develop more players for the top flight and earn promotion to the next tier of national football.
