Tusker FC captain Charles Momanyi says Sunday’s FKF MozzartBet Cup final will be decided on the finest of details, and opines that the team which ‘wants it more’ will win it.
The captain has insisted that the Brewers are focused on quenching a trophy thirst, and putting a happy mark into a season that has otherwise proved difficult with a ninth place finish in the Premier League.
“This will be a very tough game. We are facing a good side with good players and a good coaching team. We know they are determined to win, and equally, or probably even more, we want to win it as well. Whoever wants it more will win it and I believe we want it so much. I have seen how we are in training; the focus, the determination and the hunger from the players,” the captain said.
He added; “This is a good chance for us to make amends for the season we have had.”
Looking back at the SportPesa League campaign, the captain has admitted the team performed below par.
“This is my fifth season at Tusker FC and we have never finished in the position we did. We are all disappointed, but there are plenty of lessons to learn and hopefully we can improve next season,” the captain notes.
Momanyi has called on his teammates to put in their best in Kwale on Sunday, with a place in Continental football at stake as well. He has challenged his counterparts to grab the opportunity of playing in the CAF Confederation Cup, something he says will be a step up for all players in the team.
