Ibrahim Joshua headed home in the first half as Tusker FC bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Murang’a Seal at the Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite a tough second half where the boys played on the backfoot, the team managed to hold on for the victory, the second of the year.
Joshua angled a brilliant header into the bottom left of goal, when a superb Stephen Etyang cross picked him up unmarked inside the box.
It was a well deserved goal for the boys, who had started off brilliantly, dictating the tempo of play and commanding possession.
Eric Kapaito should have made it 2-0 close to halftime in same fashion, this time some good pressing from Collins Odhiambo winning the ball to set up David Polepole whose cross was pinpoint.

In the second half, Seal came back a rejuvenated side, changes made giving them fresh legs to press. However, the boys put in some superb defensive displays to cut off their intended crosses.
On the other end, the team had some chances as well, Polepole’s shot from the edge of the area blocked, while a ping-ponged ball from a corner was cleared away with Kapaito lurking.
The coach had time to introduce debutants Servel Akouala and Bless Selassie, who added some attacking depth.
Selassie showed his capabilities keeping the ball and he had a sniff at goal with a shot from range, which wasn’t on target.
