Midfielder Chris Erambo says his national team call up is a massive boost to charge up for the remainder of the season.
The combative midfielder has been handed a call up by head coach Benni McCarthy into the Harambee Stars team that heads to Kigali for the FIFA Series friendly matches.
The midfielder has had a tough season, having missed a huge chunk of the first leg with an ankle injury he picked up during the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in August.
“It is a massive motivation for me and a reward for the hard work I have been putting in behind the scenes. It gives me a huge boost to keep working and to get back to the best form. It has been a really long and tough journey to recover and get minutes and this has really helped,” the midfielder stated.
At the turn of the second leg, Erambo has amassed more minutes, and this has been a major step in him getting the national team nod back.

Looking back, the midfielder says he is delighted to have come off a challenging period in his career.
“It has been a long journey recovering from injury and getting here and I want to thank my teammates for pushing me and giving me the motivation needed to keep working and come back stronger. These are challenges in the life of a footballer, and I worked knowing I had the ability to recover and come back stronger. All the extra sessions I had have paid fruit,” he says.
Erambo now hopes he can inspire the team to a strong finish in the season, with the FKF Cup still in sight and the ambition to finish the SportPesa League strong.
