Bless feeling at home and itching to score

Tusker FC’s new signing Selassie Bless Bakai says he feels at home so far, three weeks in since joining the Brewers on a short-term contract. The highly experienced Ghanaian import joined in during mid-season, and has so far made substitute appearances in the SportPesa League matches against Murang’a Seal and Kariobangi Sharks.
“It has been okay so far and now I wish I had joined this club a long time ago. The few moments I have been here so far have been great. I am happy and I have been welcomed really well. I am a foreigner but I feel at home and it is like I am in my own country. Everyone has been kind,” the Ghanaian says.
He adds that he has been working hard to gain the needed fitness levels to match up with the demands of the Kenyan league, and has credited his teammates for helping him lighten the load.
“I am not yet at their level yet (fitness) but everyone is helping me to get there. Kenya is one of the growing league in Africa and it is a very powerful league. I have to level up to it and do the work as a striker and get goals. I am happy so far I have come in as a substitute and I am thankful for the minutes as I have now gotten to know how the league is,” added the forward.
He says it has not been hard to settle down and get into rhythm with his new teammates as football is a universal language and he is even more excited that he is working with a coach he has worked with before, which makes it easier for him to get the tactics right.
Now, his focus is on Friday’s FKF MozzartBet Cup R32 match against Bidco United, where he hopes to play a bigger role to help the team win and fight for a title at the end of the season.
“I won the league last season where I was and I believe I bring good experience to the team. I can’t win the league but we have the Cup and it is very important to me. I have to take something home to show, this is what I achieved in my time at Tusker,” the burly forward added.
