Ahead of the Sunday match against Shabana FC in Homabay, the team played a training match against National Super League (NSL) side Nairobi United, drawing 2-2.
Tusker’s goals were scored by James Kibande and Eric Zakayo in the first half, while Eric Kapaito had a second half penalty sail wide.
Tusker broke the deadlock after just 10 minutes, Kibande striking a brilliant low shot from a well laid through ball from Collins ‘Kante’ Otieno.
The Naibois however levelled the tie in the 33rd minute from the penalty spot. Zakayo restored parity three minutes to the break with a deft curling ball from the left after dribbling his way to the edge of the box.
In the second half, Eric Kapaito should have made it 3-1 from the penalty spot after Deogratious Ojok was hacked down inside the box, but he hit his effort inches wide with the keeper going the wrong way.
The visitors would score the equalizer late on, in a match that coach Robert Matano shuffled his side every 30 minutes to ensure everyone picked the requisite match fitness.
