Tusker FC sign winger Stephen Etyang on one-year deal

Tusker FC is pleased to announce the signing of experienced winger Stephen Etyang from KCB FC, with the 29-year-old penning a one-year contract at Ruaraka.

Etyang joins the Brewers as the club strengthens its attacking options ahead of a demanding second half of the season.

A product of Kakamega High School, the winger brings with him vast experience in the Premier League, having featured for Kakamega Homeboyz, Ulinzi Stars, Nzoia Sugar and the now-defunct Palos FC, before his most recent spell with KCB.

Speaking after putting pen to paper on Friday afternoon, Etyang expressed his delight at joining the 13-time league champions.

Stephen Etyang signs his contract as a Tusker FC player.

“I am delighted to join Tusker FC because it is a club of high pedigree and one that fights for titles every season. Personally, this is a step up and an opportunity to challenge myself in a demanding environment,” he said.

“I have been welcomed really well and already feel at home, especially because there are many familiar faces, players I have known and played with before.”

The winger is clear on what he hopes to bring to the team during his stay at Ruaraka.

“My target is to score goals and provide assists to help the team climb the standings. I know it is a difficult moment, but these are the situations where you truly test yourself as a player. If you can step up and help the team during such times, it shows character, and I am ready for the challenge ahead,” Etyang added.

Head coach Charles Okere believes Etyang’s arrival will add much-needed depth and experience to the attacking unit, particularly following the departure of Curtis Wekesa late last year.

“Stephen is a player with huge experience in the league and exactly the kind we need at this stage of the season,” Okere said.

“We have been working hard to improve our attacking play, and his quality, experience and understanding of the league will be very important for us in the second leg. He has trained well with the squad this week and is integrating nicely. I have no doubt he will be a crucial addition to the team.”

Etyang is now awaiting final clearance from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and could make his Tusker FC debut on Sunday, when the Brewers face his former club KCB FC at the Kasarani Annex.
