Tusker fc travel to Murang’a for Sportpesa League matchday five

Tusker FC travels to Murang’a for Matchday Five of the SportPesa League on Sunday, searching for its first win of the season.

The Brewers have two points off back to back to back draws against Mathare United and Shabana FC.

Coach Charles Okere will be looking to turn these into maximum points, and is boosted with the return of striker Eric Kapaito who missed the match against Shabana with injury.

“The three-week break has been a blessing for us because most of the players who were injured have returned. Kapaito has come up really well and Issa (Lumumba) who also had a knock has trained well this week. We have also had good time to work on the weak areas we had and I believe we are ready for the game,” said coach Charles Okere.

His sentiments are shared by defender Francis Oduor, who believes the team is due for its first win.

“The motivation, spirit and morale in the team is really high. We have trained well for this game and the focus is really encouraging. We respect Murang’a because they are an equally good side, but we have to go there and get a win.”

Coach Okere has insisted that the team is under massive pressure to get victory, but reiterates they will approach the game with calm heads.

“We have drawn our last two matches and it is now time we get a win. Where we are in the table is not a good place and we need to work to get our first win of the season, which I believe will push us into a good run,” noted the coach.

Last season, Tusker completed a home and away sweep against Seal. They won the first leg at the St Sebastian Park 3-0 with Ryan Ogam scoring a hattrick while the return fixture in Machakos ended in a 2-1 win.
