Tusker suffer defeat at the hands of AFC Leopards

Boban Zirintusa’s first goal in Tusker FC colors wasn’t enough, as Tusker FC suffered defeat at the hands of AFC Leopards in an FKF Premier League match in Dandora on Wednesday evening.

The Ugandan forward found the back of the net in the final 10 minutes of the game, but it was mere consolation in a 4-1 defeat.

Goals from Ovella Ochieng, Sydney Lokale, Victor Omune and Boniface Munyendo led Leopards to victory. The hosts found the opener at the stroke of halftime when Ochieng scored from a rebound after keeper Joseph Ochuka had done brilliantly to save Lokale’s penalty.

In the second half, Leopards once again pounced faster off the blocks with Lokale scoring the second after being put through on goal to beat Ochuka one on one. Substitute Omune then scored the third off a similar situation, a defense splitting pass finding him unmarked on the right.

A goalmouth melee would see a fourth goal scored, Munyendo firing home from close range.

Zirintusa, who had come on as a second half substitute finished calmly on his weaker left foot inside the box, but it was too little too late to warrant a comeback.

The defeat puts an end to Tusker’s four-match winning streak. The boys now switch focus to the next assignment against Bidco United on Sunday.
