Tusker Youth assistant captain, David Polepole, is still on cloud nine after making his senior team debut in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Shabana FC in Machakos.
Polepole, who has been training with the senior team since the start of the season, was given the opportunity to travel to Machakos, where he came on as a substitute for Ryan Ogam, marking his debut.
“It was such an incredible feeling,” Polepole shared with Tusker TV. “It’s not every day that a Youth Team player gets a chance to step up and play for the senior team, so I feel proud to represent my Youth teammates. This is just the beginning, and I know there’s more to come.”

Polepole has been in outstanding form for the Youth Team, and his coach, Charles Okere, who has worked closely with him for nearly three seasons, recognized his potential and gave him the opportunity to join the senior squad.
Reflecting on his journey, Polepole said:
“If you prove your worth with every small opportunity, things will always fall into place. It’s all about hard work and following instructions. I’m grateful to the coaches for trusting me with this chance. It was an amazing experience, and the best part is that I was ready for it. I’ve always put in the effort, even going the extra mile. I know I’ll keep improving and achieve great things.”

The young forward is determined to give his absolute best to the team and is fully committed to the season’s goals of contending for the Premier League and Cup titles.
“I’m eager to achieve success with the senior team, and I’m confident that, if given more opportunities, I can contribute to the team’s success. Our focus is already on this weekend’s match against Bandari. We’ve been training well and are fully prepared for the challenge,” said the 21-year-old.
