Kaddu on a brace as Tusker bounce back to winning ways

George Kaddu scored twice as Tusker FC came from a goal down to beat FC Talanta 3-1 and bounce back to winning ways.

It was a brilliant way for the brewers to bounce back after a winless run in three matches, where the team drew twice and lost once.

Talanta went ahead after just three minutes from a penalty scored by Bernard Odhiambo, but the boys showed superb resilience to bounce back.

Tom Teka powered home the leveler after just seven minutes, thumping home a header from the edge of the six yard area from a sumptuous delivery off a corner from Mike Oduor. Minutes later, it was 2-1 when Kaddu scored the first of his two.

The Ugandan utility player tapped the ball home from close range after Shaphan Siwa had beaten the keeper to the ball, flicking home from a Dennis Wanjala delivery off a freekick.

Like clockwork, the same movement produced the third goal. Wanjala delivered from a freekick, Siwa flicked over the keeper and Kaddu sneaked in to tap home.

There should have been two more goals, with skipper Charles Momanyi heading inches over from Kaddu’s long throws. Siwa also had a chance to score when he controlled the ball inside the box and took a snap shot, but it flew inches wide.

In the second half, Talanta put in the pressure trying to play the ball behind the defense, but the backline stood tall to ensure the scoreline remained the same.

Late in the game, there were two more chances, first Oduor trying to catch the keeper from range but his effort flying over the bar, while Jacob Onyango, who had come on as a sub saw a shot blocked inside the box.
