Sakari proud to lead team to victory on final day of the season

Daniel Sakari, one of the five senior players in the Tusker FC leadership group was handed the honor of skippering the team in the final match of the season on Sunday against Kakamega Homeboyz.

The versatile defender ensured he led the team to finish off on a high, with a 1-0 victory against the visitors at the Ruaraka Complex.

“It is a moment of pride for me. It feels amazing, and definitely more of this to come,” Sakari said after the final match.

He added; “It was great to finish off the season with victory. We have played against them (Homeboyz) thrice this season and they beat us two times, but we had to ensure we get some respect back by winning the last game of the season.”

Meanwhile, Sakari says the team feels the season wasn’t entirely perfect after failing to land a trophy, but has promised the players will use that pain as fuel for next season.

“We will keep on working and just becoming better. With time we will be a great team and we hope for a better next season. We want to battle and win trophies. We thank the fans for their support this season and we promise to do better next season and make the proud,” added the assistant captain.
