Tusker Youth FC started off their FKF National Division II League campaign on a high, with a well worked 6-0 thrashing of Tatu City FC at the Ruaraka Stadium on Saturday evening. New boy Ken Kanyiri put on a star show in the middle of the pack, playing an integral role in the massive win.
The pint-sized midfielder created the first goal after just 15 minutes, floating in a delicious corner that was slammed home by skipper George Odhiambo. The young lads had taken charge of the game from minute one, with several chances, David Polepole missing two great opportunities at goal.
In the 24th minute, it was 2-0 when Douglas Omanga turned home his first goal of the season finishing off a well worked team move that saw Stephen Kimani cut back the ball to the edge of the six yard area.
The boys took a 2-0 lead to the break.
In the second half, they engaged a higher gear. Just four minutes on the turn, Anthony Okoth made it 3-0 with a thunderous shot from the right side after Omanga’s cutback found him well placed and unmarked.
Nestroy Otieno made it 4-0 in the 53rd minute, beating the keeper one on one after a delightful through ball from Kanyiri.
Polepole finally found his goal when he finished off a pass from Okoth, before substitute David Olok put the icing on the cake with the sixth goal eight minutes to time, cutting in from the left before powering a shot into the roof of the net.
