Tusker FC will look to cement their hold on second spot in the FKF Premier League when they play away to Posta Rangers. They are four points ahead of third placed Police FC and a win will assure them of finishing behind champions Gor Mahia.
The Mailmen were 2-1 winners over Bandari FC over the weekend, to pull clear in second spot and they know victory in midweek will assure themselves of a second consecutive runners-up finish.
Midfielder James Kibande, who scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Bandari says the players are psyched and motivated to finish strong.
“The season has not been as we would have wished because we wanted to fight for a title, but we are where we are and we need to finish second. We want to end with victory and a win in these last two games will be key for us,” said Kibande.
They face off a tough Posta side that has been a thorn in their flesh in the last few meetings, and they will be keen to get maximum points as they play at the Thika Stadium.
The team seeks the fifth win in six matches, and Kibande says the spirit is high. “You could see it in the game against bandari. We fought well as a team and everybody pushed to get the victory. That is the same spirit we go with into these last two games.”
Kibande has a personal goal of reaching five goals for the season and wants to score in each of the remaining two games. He has so far scored three goals and has four assists to his name, most coming in the second half of the season.
