While he acknowledges that the team has made significant strides since he took charge, coach Julien Mette says he is not entirely happy with a few tactical things in the team, but remains confident the boys are in a good way.
The tactician says he is not pleased with the team conceding twice in the last four matches, and has used this week to address issues arising from the defensive organization. The Brewers conceded in the 1-0 loss to Shabana and the 2-1 victory over Kariobangi Sharks.
Coach Mette says both goals could have been avoided, and has acknowledged the team has sunk in effort to correct the situations that led to both goals.

“I am not entirely happy because we should have done four clean sheets. Yes, the own goal was a bit unfair but it could have been avoided. The second goal we conceded was also a big mistake but we have worked to correct these and we are improving,” the tactician noted.
Coach Mette also says the team has worked to strike a balance of reacting in and out of possession, and he says he is pleased with how the players have reacted to the tactics this week.
“We try to play and sometime you can find yourself unbalanced when we lose the ball in transition. This is the most dangerous phase of play and we have worked on that and we will try to get that second cleansheet in a row,” explains the coach.

At the same time, the tactician says he is pleased to have had at least one whole week to prepare, having worked on a tight schedule of four games within two weeks since arriving at the club.
“We have focused on recovery because of the tight schedules with travel as well as the nature of the games which have been demanding with intensity. We saw some problems which we didn’t have time to correct before and we have done that this week,” he notes.
Meanwhile, the coach says he is more focused on the team’s style of play and not the opponent’s, believing strengthening his own team is more crucial than adapting to an opponent.
“I don’t change my philosophy of the team shape or system of play because of an opponent. We focus on what we want to achieve as a team. Every game is tough and for me, I don’t look at the ranking because I was not here at the start. So I take every game as a new one,” said coach Mette.
