Tusker Youth Team captain Dennis Chimano has rallied his teammates to sharpen their performances on the road as the FKF Division Two League enters a decisive second leg, admitting that improving their away form will be key to their promotion push.
The brewers endured a frustrating run away from home in the first leg, dropping valuable points that have left them playing catch-up in the standings. However, with lessons learned and renewed focus within the squad, Chimano says the team is ready to turn that weakness into a strength, starting with Saturday’s trip away to Creative Hands FC.
“We know and we have spoken about that as a team,” Chimano said. “For you to be a champion, you have to win both home and away and if you can get many wins away, it is an advantage for you. We hope we can improve on that.”

Tusker head into the fixture with growing belief, buoyed by noticeable improvements in chemistry and understanding among the players. Having kept the core of the squad together, Chimano notes that the increased familiarity is beginning to reflect positively on performances.
“We have grown a lot as a team because the players have stayed together and now we understand each other much better,” he added. “You can see it in how we move the ball and support each other on the pitch. That cohesion is helping us improve with every match.”
Currently sitting third in the standings, Tusker Youth remain firmly in contention for promotion, with the gap to the top still within reach. Chimano insists the target remains unchanged and that the team is determined to seize the opportunity in the second half of the campaign.
“We are now third in the standings and the target is still within reach. We want to win as many matches as possible in the second leg to achieve this.”
