Midfielder Chris Erambo has been named the Tusker Football Fans’ player of the month for February. Erambo, who has recently been named into the Harambee Stars provisional squad for the four-nations tournament in Malawi, waded off competition from top scorer Eric Kapaito and assistant captain Michael Kibwage.
The fans’ player of the month is a new initiative, that starts off awarding the best performing players from the month of February.
“I am delighted to be awarded this great award. I want to thank the fans for their initiative because it will spur us as players to do better. I also want to thank my teammates because I wouldn’t have done well without their support. Also much thanks to the coaches for their support always,” Erambo said.

Fans’ club chairman Jaspher Mutuku alias Mus Joe said they will continue to do their part from the stands to push the players to achieve good results.
“We started this initiative as fans just to show our appreciation to the players and to give them more support to achieve our goals as a team. We had planned to start it earlier but we are glad we have done the first nonetheless,” Mutuku said.
His sentiments were shared by Fans Club Secretary General Maureen Gero who said; “We want you to know as players that we have your backs and we will do all we can to give our support. This month was very competitive and Erambo just narrowly managed to beat the rest. We hope to see another stiff battle next month.”
The award comes with a cash reward and personalized gift items, all an initiative by the fans
