Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere says he is confident of a much more improved performance in the next three rounds of matches in the FKF Premier League, as action resumes on Sunday following a three-week international break.
The brewers will be at home, taking on FC Talanta at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Following a run of a win, two draws and a loss in the first four matches of the campaign, Okere says the team has worked to address some areas of concern to see the team perform better moving forward.
“I saw an improvement in the last game we played against Police FC before the international break and I believe we have what it takes to face Talanta on Sunday. We have worked on the areas which we felt we did not do well and I am confident we have done well and will be going out for a win,” the tactician said.
He added; “We know we are facing a tough game because Talanta is a good side with c good coach and we have seen how they have played their first two matches. For us basically, we will be going out to play our game, execute our strategy and get a win.”
The coach also commented on the team readiness with a tight fixture playing three games in the next seven days, and he says the boys are prepared both physically and mentally.
Okere says: “The team had enough training time during the three weeks break so training is not an excuse. We have three tough fixtures lined up but we are up to the task”
Meanwhile, the coach has provided the latest fitness update ahead of the next week.
“Ogam (Ryan), Kibande (James), Oguta (Dennis) and Luvanda (Lawrence) have resumed training but will not be able to be there for the next two games. But it is good they have made progress in terms of returning. Despite their absence, I believe we have good cover,” the coach stated.
