Coach Charles Okere has lauded the players for their second half fight and spirit that birthed a 2-0 win over Sofapaka at the Kasarani Annex on Sunday.
On the balance of chances, the scoreline should have been bigger, but coach Okere was pleased that the players stepped up the tempo in the second half to make the chances count.
“We spoke at halftime and we told the players that we needed to finish the chances we create. In the first half we had created and not scored. We wanted to also improve our goal difference and it was important that we won with a good margin. I am happy that the players went into the second half encouraged and motivated with a good mentality and we finished on a high,” coach Okere said.

The tactician was also impressed with the win, a third in a row that takes the team second in the standings.
“It was a great game and a great performance. We remain humble in victory. This is a month of celebration and we are delighted to have won two games so far.”
Meanwhile, the coach has showered praise on Ian Simiyu, whose two goals handed the team victory against Sofapaka.

“He is a very important player in our set up. He executes the team strategy really well and we saw even against Shabana when he came on and gave us an equalizer. It is his time, let him shine.”
At the same time, the coach is delighted with the return of striker Eric Kapaito and also spoke well on the debut of young winger Douglas Omanga, who was promoted from the Youth Team.
“It is great to have Kapaito back. With his experience and eye for goal, he is a very instrumental player for us. I am also delighted to have Douglas make his debut with some few minutes and he showed us what he can do. I believe that for him now, the chance is there and he has to take it.”
