Tusker FC midfielder Fabian Adikiny says there has been plenty to learn for him from his maiden season in the FKF Premier League.
Adikiny joined the Brewers at the start of the season from Murang’a Seal, having helped them to gain promotion from the National Super League.
He accumulated 1,142 minutes in his first season and was named in the starting team 14 times, scoring twice; a 1-0 win over Police FC and the 3-1 win over Sofapaka, both at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

“It has been a good season and I have learnt a lot. It wasn’t easy for me especially coming from the second tier, but I believe I am better now,” Adikiny said.
He added; “I wasn’t used to the speed in the top flight. Up here, it is also very aggressive and physical especially in midfield where I play. It needs you to be a quick thinker and make decisions in the split of a second especially with your passing and pressing.”
The lanky midfielder says he has improved greatly as a person and a player, thanks to the experience he has picked up so far.

“I can rate my season as six out of 10. I had an injury in some long spell of the season and that slowed me a bit. My physicality has improved a lot; I am more aggressing and I am passing better than when I came in,” said Adikiny.
Looking forward to next season, the midfielder expects to do better and admits a lot more should be expected from him.
“As a team we have to go for the title next season. We finished number two but that should not be satisfactory. We have to fight for the league next season. Personally, I also want to push more, play more and hopefully get a call up to the national team,” further noted the midfielder.
