Midweek friendly: Tusker FC 3-0 Kibera Black Stars

Boban Zirintusa scored twice in the first half as Tusker FC beat National Super League side Kibera Black Stars 3-0 in a friendly match played at the Ruaraka Complex, Wednesday morning.

The friendly game, organized by the technical bench to ensure continued match fitness with the three week international break featured players who did not get a run in on Saturday, in the season opening FKF Premier League fixture against Sofapaka.

Zirintusa opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the game when he picked up a brilliant through ball from Fabian Adikiny before firing a low shot into the bottom right from the edge of the box.

Five minutes later, Mwangi, the shortest man inside the box, rose brilliantly to head home a corner from Dennis Wanjala.

Five minutes to the break, Zirintusa completed his brace when he scored with a diving header, off another brilliant delivery from Mike Oduor with a trivela from the left.

Oduor could have made it 4-0 at the stroke of halftime, but his curling effort from the edge of the box came off the crossbar.

The team had more chances in the second half, but couldn’t add the tally of goals.

The friendly also featured two of our Youth Team players, defender George Odhiambo and midfielder Brian Kamau.
