Striker Ryan Wesley Ogam hopes to make the most of his opportunity with the national team Harambee Stars, after making his maiden senior call up for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against South Sudan.
Ogam has been in great form for Tusker, scoring five goals in four matches. He missed three games due to injury and made a return against KCB last weekend, scoring both goals in the 3-2 defeat. His form attracted the eye of national team coach Engin Firat.
“I am really delighted to have landed a chance to be called up for the senior team. I have played at the junior level before and this is the first time I am with the seniors. It is every player’s dream to play for the national team and I feel delighted to receive this honor. It was one of my targets when the season started and I am delighted to have achieved it,” Ogam said.
He added; “This is a massive platform and I want to thank my team Tusker FC, teammates, coaches and management because without their support I would not be here. I am humbled for this and it is an opportunity that I want to make the most of.”
Ogam says that the work does not stop here, and he wants to keep working hard to earn more call ups.
