Tusker Youth continue with brilliant Division II run

Tusker Youth continued with their brilliant run in the FKF Division II League, thrashing Burn FC 3-1 at the Ruaraka Complex on Saturday evening for their fourth win in a row.

The victory at home took the Youth team to 22 points, and remain top of the log after earning their seventh win of the season. In nine games, coach Charles Okere’s boys have won seven, drawn one and lost one.

A quickfire start saw the team go 2-0 up within the first three minutes. Teddy Dok broke the deadlock in the opening minute of the game, finishing off a pass from Dennis Okoth.

The Youth Team top scorer then turned from provider to scorer, netting the second goal in the third minute with a well taken volley from inside the box after Douglas Omanga laid the ball for him from Ronald Osir’s cross.

The visitors however drew one back from the penalty spot, though keeper Daniel Ochieng had it covered though it slipped right between his legs.

But, the team gave in a good fight and they restored their two goal cushion in the 26th minute when David Polepole headed home from inside the box, off another well weighted Omanga assist.

They could have gone 4-1 before the break, but skipper Dwight Shikanda’s well struck shot from range rose marginally over the bar.

In the second half, the visitors tried to pile pressure, but couldn’t get a way back. Okoth and Polepole had chances on the other end, but couldn’t extend the score.

The team’s next match will be next Sunday away to Thika Homeboyz.
