The Tusker Youth team has been drawn against Jamhuri Sports Academy in the quarter finals of the Nairobi County 82 Sports tournament at the Police Sacco Stadium next weekend.
The Youth Team qualified for the County finals after clinching the Kasarani Sub-County title following a post-match penalties victory over New Njiru FC last year.
“We are really excited to play in the Country finals of this tournament and everyone is looking forward to the challenge. This is a tournament and we have to take each game very seriously. Every game is a final because it is a knockout game,” Tusker Youth head coach Peter Kariuki says.
He adds; “We have faced JSA in the league and in friendly matches and this is a team we know well. It is not going to be a walk in the park but we have to be at our best in every aspect of the game.”
The Youth Team has recently faced off with JSA in the FKF Division II League at Ruaraka, beating them 1-0. The two sides are not strangers to each other, as they have also faced off numerous times in friendly matches.
There are eight teams playing in the County finals, each champion from their respective Sub-Counties.
