Tusker FC Youth bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory away to Burhan FC at the Camp Toyoyo Ground on Saturday.
Dennis Okoth scored the lone goal in the second half, as the youngsters put off a five-match winless streak.
It was a well worked performance from the boys and the scoreline should have been wider had they taken most of their chances.
“We played really well with heart and with a lot of dedication. We attacked and defended as a team and that is what we want to see more of. We have 13 games remaining now and we have to give our best,” said Tusker Youth coach Charles Okere.
The team started well, commanding most of the possession. Okoth had good chances, but he couldn’t find the back of the net.
Ronald Osir came close when he found some shooting space inside the box, but the Burhan keeper made a good save.
David Polepole came inches close to breaking the deadlock when he curled a brilliant freekick from 30 yards out, but the ball bounced off the crossbar.
In the second half, the team stepped up attack and in the 65th minute scored what would be the winning goal, Okoth heading at the backpost after Josephat Andafu curled the ball into the area.
The boys had more chances, with Osir seeing another well taken left footed shot narrowly miss the target, while Patrick Mwinzi was denied one on one by the keeper late on.
The victory now pulls the team to 26 points.
